Frances Barth at the Cincinnati Art Museum

Barth's 1970s paintings are included in the Cincinnati Art Museum's current exhibition through July 11, 2021 American Painting: The Eighties Revisited, a revival of the 1979 landmark exhibition of the same name at New York University’s Grey Art Gallery. All 41 artists featured in the original exhibition are shown here, including 35 paintings shown at the Grey Art Gallery. It features abstract paintings by artists including Frances Barth, Sam Gilliam, Nancy Graves, and Elizabeth Murray, all of whom were new to the New York art scene at the time.
